RECOGNITION OF THE EVANGELICAL UNIVERSITY OF EL SALVADOR
AS AN INSTITUTION OF HIGHER EDUCATION THAT CONTRIBUTES TO COMPLIANCE WITH THE ODS IN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY MATTERS

On April 26, as part of the commemoration of World Intellectual Property Day, celebrated every April 26, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) held the closing event of Intellectual Property Week with the theme “Intellectual Property (IP) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Our Common Future is Shaped by Innovation and Creativity”. This activity took place at the Barceló Hotel and was attended by Dr. Christian Aparicio, National Director of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MINEDUCYT); Licda. Edna López, President of the Intellectual Property Association; Lic. Camilo Trigueros, Director of the CNR. Ernesto Guevara, expert of the WIPO Academy, shared success stories – EPI-CATI/ compliance with the SDGs, and gave a presentation on the SDGs and the link with IP; At the event, awards were presented to Higher Education Institutions for supporting initiatives that contribute to the fulfillment of the SDGs in Intellectual Property, which the Evangelical University of El Salvador was awarded, received recognition on behalf of UEES from Dr. Nuvia Estrada, Vice Rector of Research and Social Projection. The event was attended by Mtra. Norma Hernández, Director of Publications; Mr. Ernesto Rodriguez, DIRCI Project Design and Management Coordinator; Mr. Carlos Rodriguez, Coordinator of the Technology and Innovation Support Center (CATI); and Mr. Enrique Monroy, Coordinator of the Law School.
