PARTICIPATION IN THE LAUNCHING OF THE
GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE RESEARCH INSTITUTE
On March 7th, the launching of the Institute for Research on Gender Based Violence (IVG) of the Francisco Gavidia University took place. The creation of this institute was made possible by inter-institutional cooperation between USAID, Arizona State University, Universidad Francisco Gavidia and Civil Society Organizations. The Institute seeks to identify the causes and consequences of the phenomenon of violence through ongoing scientific research that contributes to the creation of public policies, strategies and initiatives to prevent or eliminate gender-based violence. This activity was attended by Dra. Milena de Reyes, Director of the Centro de Investigación Especializado en Salud (CIES); Mtro. Enrique Monrroy, Research Coordinator of the School of Legal Sciences; Mtro. Miguel Quintanilla, Coordinator of the Center for Health and Society Research (CISS); Lic. Walter Menjívar, Director of Social Projection and Student Services.
