PARTICIPATION IN THE QS HIGHER ED SUMMIT: AMERICAS 2024

On October 3 and 4, Dr. Nuvia Estrada de Velasco, Vice Rector for Research and Outreach, participated in the QS Higher Ed Summit: Americas 2024 “Collaborative Solutions: Empowering Higher Education for the Next Generation of Leaders in the Americas and the Caribbean”, held at the Jaime Torres Bodet Cultural Center of the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico City, Mexico. This summit brings together visionary academic leaders from across the region to reflect on the opportunities and challenges facing students, such as mental health, pedagogical innovation and environmental sustainability. The various presentations and panels address proposals to support higher education to adapt and thrive in an era of rapid change, addressing pressing issues such as AI integration, economic uncertainty and the future of work. At the summit, Universidad Evangélica de El Salvador (UEES) received the QS Recognition Awards “New Entrants” for its inclusion in this year’s ranking. This achievement highlights the academic excellence of UEES, in particular, its contribution to knowledge transfer through scientific production indexed in SCOPUS. This recognition represents an institutional milestone and positions UEES as an academic reference for the country, highlighting its impact on the scientific and academic community at the international level.
