On Thursday, October 17, 2024, the 1st Congress of Librarianship and Information Sciences was held with the theme: “Intelligent Libraries: Innovation and Knowledge”, developed in the facilities of the UEES. The event began with a prayer led by Lic. Oscar Pleites-DCU, welcoming remarks by Dr. Cristina de Amaya, Rector and opening remarks by Inga. Marielos Mercado, Vice Rector of Innovation and Educational Technology of UEES and President of CBUES. The event was attended by 103 participants, both on-site and in virtual mode. CBUES is made up of 19 IES which were present at the event, to develop networking and learn new ways of library management. The main presentations focused on:

• Libraries as Innovation Centers: UCA, UDB and UEES.Innovations in User Services: Universidad Javeniana. Colombia
• Artificial Intelligence in Bibliometrics” Speaker: Mtro. Luis Enrique Lescano Borrego, Ecuador.
• It was sponsored by EBSCO, LIBTECS, RITMS GROUP and ICI.
