UEES students stand out in the Model United Nations Interuniversity in Guatemala

Five students of the Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Business of the Faculty of Legal Sciences UEES successfully participated in the sixth edition of the Inter-University Model United Nations of Guatemala (MINUG) 2025, which took place from March 3 to 8; academic event that brought together students from various universities in the region to simulate the diplomatic and negotiation processes in the committees of the United Nations.

Accompanied by Ms. Karla Cañas, from the School of International Studies, the UEES delegates represented Bosnia and Herzegovina and the People’s Republic of China, participating in debate sessions, conflict resolution and the formulation of innovative proposals. Through this experience, the students strengthened key skills such as argumentation, public speaking, negotiation and leadership.

The delegation’s performance was recognized with important awards, including the prestigious Primus Inter Pares recognition, awarded to student Génesis Sofía Pleitez Romero for her leadership and commitment within the model. In addition, the UEES representation was distinguished with the Outstanding Delegation award, highlighting their preparation, collaboration and excellence in the debate.

This type of experience reaffirms UEES’s commitment to the comprehensive training of its students, promoting the development of key competencies in the field of international relations and diplomacy. Through their participation in spaces such as MINUG, future professionals consolidate their knowledge in a high-level academic environment, promoting dialogue, cooperation and the search for innovative solutions to global problems.
