Main cultural philosophical currents in Latin America

In the present work the most important cultural events before the 19th century are reported; Foundation of universities, Inductions of the printing press and most representative cultural-philosophical ideas; The main philosophical-cultural currents in Latin America are described, among them, the reaction against Scholasticism, the transition to modern philosophy and the characters of the philosophical awakening in Latin America: a Realism, a repudiation of authority and philosophy in the 19th century. : Rationalism, Idealism and Positivism; Positivism and the overcoming of Positivism. Finally, it presents the main philosophical-cultural currents currently represented in Latin America: Realism, the influence of Spanish philosophers and a current parameter of philosophy in Latin America to focus, from the perspective of teachers-students, a portrait of the philosopher Matías Romero Coto. , legitimate glory of current Salvadoran thought, through the presentation speech upon being awarded the 2000 “Roberto Armijo” National Value Award, for the Department of Chalatenango.
