Abstract

In the present work the most important cultural events before the 19th century are reported; Foundation of universities, Inductions of the printing press and most representative cultural-philosophical ideas; The main philosophical-cultural currents in Latin America are described, among them, the reaction against Scholasticism, the transition to modern philosophy and the characters of the philosophical awakening in Latin America: a Realism, a repudiation of authority and philosophy in the 19th century. : Rationalism, Idealism and Positivism; Positivism and the overcoming of Positivism.
