Stomatitis subprosthesis is a little-known alteration with that name and must be separated from the term Inflammatory Papillary Hyperplasia to designate the pathological changes of In oral mucosa in the support area of the complete to renewable denture. The purpose of this study was to establish in the presence of stomatitis subpratesis, in addition to relating this finding to the sex of patients and their stage of evolution according to Newton's classification. Likewise, its appearance was related to the oral hygiene of patients, as1 eat the consumption of alcohol, tobacco and irritating foods. The results of the study showed that, of 36 patients with total to removable prostheses examined, of which 33 presented stomatitis. The ages of these patients ranged between 50 and 70 years, with females being the most affected. 30 prostheses were found in unacceptable condition and males of them wore them overnight. Most lesions were located in the anterior, middle and posterior part of the mouth. It is interesting that it does not represent a reason for dental consultation among older adults, but nevertheless it is one of the causes that betray the state of the prostheses that these patients wear at the time of the examination, and constitutes one of the barriers to immediate prosthetic rehabilitation.
