Abstract

When talking about research, development and innovation (i + d + i) it is worth discussing what are the skills that the researcher-developer-innovator must have in the contemporary world. In addition to the domain of the branch that investigates, which can be accredited with their levels of training, specialization, professional practice and experience in the field, it is worth highlighting:

• Commitment to continuing education.

• Critical and reflective thinking.

• Assuming an openness to knowledge, that is, to new learning, or even unlearning

pre-knowledge and adopt others.

• Change management capacity.

• Participate in national and international teams and networks.

• Ability to communicate in the English language.

• Be ethical, disciplined and persevering, the latter related to their resilience.

before the challenges of science, methods, processes and results.
