Presentation of Results: Integration of Ethics in the National System of Higher Education (SNES)


Last Thursday, October 24, at the Hilton Hotel, the presentation of the results of the “Report on the Ethical Situation in Higher Education” took place. This milestone marks a before and after in the training of Salvadoran professionals. The event was attended by leading figures in the academic field, including rectors, vice rectors, deans and professors from various higher education institutions. Also participating in the event were Dr. Christian Aparicio, National Director of Higher Education; Dra. Daysi de Gómez, Rector USAM; Dra. Cristina de Amaya, Rector UEES, representatives of Globethicsan international organization dedicated to promoting ethics in all areas of life. Following the presentation of results, workshops were held on October 24 and 25 at the Aula Magna “Lic. Adiel Hernández Galdámez”. More than 100 professionals from 38 IES met with the objective of strengthening their competencies in ethical management. Jonathan De la O (CEA) participated as moderator and Dr. Mirna García (VRA) spoke to the attendees, the activity was led by Dr. Pablo Ayala (Tec. Monterrey). This study, which involved 40 institutions and more than 3,000 participants divided into students, teachers, administrative personnel and authorities, made it possible to identify the main strengths and areas of opportunity in terms of ethical management. As a result of this meeting, agreements were reached and an agenda of priorities was defined for the configuration of the national action plan, which will set the roadmap for the effective implementation of this important program.
