HISTORY

The Universidad Evangélica de El Salvador (U.E.E.S.) was founded in 1981, as a private non-profit corporation of public utility and until today maintains its institutional nature because it considers that it is the organization that best responds to its Vision, Mission and commitment to God and society.

The Universidad Evangélica was founded by a group of evangelical Christian men, professionals, entrepreneurs, businessmen, members of different churches and evangelical denominations, mainly from the Baptist Churches, Assemblies of God and the Central American Mission, who guided by the Lord Jesus Christ, proposed to contribute to the solution of the problem of higher education, in the context of the economic and social situation prevailing in El Salvador at the beginning of the decade, which devastated our country for more than ten years.

Under these circumstances, based on the solid professional experiences of many of them in the field of secondary and university education and encouraged only by the opportunity that the evangelical people could contribute, from the perspective of the values of the Kingdom of God to the training of professionals with a different background, which had the ultimate goal of changing our society, from generating a change in people, this group of men initiated the project in January of that year, starting academic activities in June of the same year, offering several careers in six schools: Medicine, Dentistry, Social Sciences, Agronomic Sciences, Engineering and Architecture.

The University also began its activities under one of the most auspicious signs of Christianity: in what was once the Jewish Synagogue in the capital city, where it functioned for several years until the needs of growth required new space.

Given the new demands of growth and legal requirements, the University launched by faith, in the year of 1995, the construction project of its own campus, a long cherished dream, and trusting the blessing of God required the acquisition of necessary land in the northeast area of the city in that same year, the phases of design, permits and financing in the year of 1996, and of its construction in the year of 1997, a project that became a beautiful reality in the year of 1998, with its inauguration in the month of January of that year, and starting the academic activities in the complex in which the University now operates from the month of February.

Universidad Evangélica, throughout these years, has become one of the best universities in the country, especially for the commitment acquired in the formation of resources with high academic quality, with a mystique of service to their peers and with a formation that includes principles and values based on the Holy Scriptures.
