MEETING WITH THE SOLIDARITY FUND FOR HEALTH (FOSALUD) AND UEES FOR THE INITIATIVE OF CERTIFICATION OF SMOKE-FREE SPACES IN PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES IN EL SALVADOR

On April 5th of this year, an important meeting was held between the Evangelical University of El Salvador (UEES) and the Solidarity Fund for Health (FOSALUD). The main objective was to establish a joint strategy for tobacco prevention and control in the country’s private universities, in line with the promotion of the “Smoke-Free Universities Initiative”.

This important meeting was attended by distinguished representatives of FOSALUD, among them, Dr. Liliam Herrera, Social Mobilization Coordinator; Dr. Josué García, Project Manager; Mr. Alvin Molina, Communications Technician; and Dr. Ottoniel Sánchez, Head of Healthy Habits. UEES was represented by Mtra. Norma Hernández, Lic. Walter Menjívar, Licda. Gabriela Rivas, Lic. Carlos Rodríguez, Mtro. Miguel Quintanilla, Dr. Aydeé de Parada and Dra. Nuvia Estrada, all of them from the Vice Rector’s Office for Research and Social Projection.

This meeting arose as part of the follow-up to an active agreement between UEES and FOSALUD, reflecting the joint commitment of both entities to promote health and wellness in the university community.
