Studying the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on mental health allows us to know the current state of an essential aspect of the health of the Salvadoran population. The study is descriptive, quantitative and cross-sectional. Sampling is probabilistic, always random. From a population of 6,484 individuals, a sample of 363 users was obtained, to whom the DASS-21 scale was applied. The highest frequency of psychiatric disturbance was depression, with a moderate to very severe severity intensity in 12.12% of all users, followed by anxiety, where 9.64% had moderate to very severe intensity and 9.09% had moderate to very severe stress levels. Regarding the demographic variables present in the different affective dimensions, they are: in depression they were women (13.60%), informal work (13.40%), widowers (17.15%), from San Salvador (12.00%), urban area ( 12.29%) and secondary level (18.29%), the highest incidence. In anxiety, the behavior was: in women (9.86%), unemployed (15.68%), accompanied (13.56%), from San Salvador (15.38%), rural area (15.38%) and secondary school (14.64%). While, in the dimension of stress, they were women (10.20%), unemployed (17.64%), singles (11.44%), from San Salvador (23.08%), from the urban area (9.14%) and university study (17.15%). . The users presented a higher percentage impact in the dimension of depression. The intensity of severity in the 3 affective dimensions was predominantly moderate to very severe. There is a multifactorial cause that triggers the presence of depression, anxiety and stress; such as social, family and economic factors, which generate personal vulnerability.
