Abstract

Throughout history, thinkers have given ideas and theories about Ethics, but everyone agrees that it is a part of Philosophy that deals with moral acts, rules of conduct about good and evil in the human being; term developed over time. Ever since men lived in community, the moral regulation of conduct has been necessary for the collective welfare. Although the different moral systems were established on arbitrary patterns of conduct, they sometimes evolved irrationally, from the violation of religious taboos or behaviors that were first habit and then custom, or even from laws imposed by leaders to prevent imbalances within the tribe. The moral term also tells us how we must behave in such a way that by acting in a certain way and according to a certain moral code we give a certain personality or way of being to our lives. According to our customs and behaviors we shape our lives and acquire our own particular way of being. That character or way of being is acquired through a series of habits and customs. Formerly it was considered that the two terms were equivalent but today it is considered that moral designates a series of norms accepted by a social group or established by a moralist. The word Ethics is a more technical expression within Philosophy and gives rise to a system of philosophical principles that are the basis of these rules.
