Surveillance systems make it possible to monitor, evaluate and guide health services towards the achievement of quality. In this sense, the UEES School of Dentistry created a system to measure student performance and compliance with the study programs for the dental practices of the Doctorate in Dental Surgery to be carried out in 4 phases. The variables to monitor were the degree of compliance with the hours of practice for each level of the clinic and the treatments valid by subject performed on patients with whom the required hours are obtained. It was found for level II and III, that the subject of Diagnosis showed 95.45% compliance with the programs and 100% Oral Surgery. On the other hand, Periodontics showed 68.19% for level II and 65% for level III. Depending on the complexity of treatments in level II, 59.2% of mild treatments were found, 26.2% moderate and 14.6% severe. In level III, 52.7% of mild treatments, 22% moderate, 16% severe and 9.3% surgeries were reported. The management body had evidence and was able to measure the effectiveness of the corrective actions taken. Until this date, there was no data collection system in the Faculty that would allow an objective interpretation. With this system, the existing academic monitoring standard at the national and international level was exceeded. It is recommended to follow up on the project to relate academic and financial variables and establish epidemiological profiles.
