The objective of this study is to determine the biosafety measures for the prevention of tuberculosis applied by students of the doctorate in medicine and bachelor's degrees in nursing during their clinical practice. Biosafety measures turn out to be of great importance for the personnel who work in a health center and we cannot ignore the students who constitute an important element and who are involved in most of the activities during their clinical practice. The study is observational of a descriptive type, carried out from May to July 2014 in two phases: in the first, 37 students were observed during their clinical practice routine using a checklist, and in the second phase, knowledge about biosafety measures was explored. to 375 students of both careers. The results showed that the clothing used by the students is adequate, but the use of personal protective equipment such as a coat, hat, mask and gloves is deficient because they do not comply with the five moments of hand washing established by the World Health Organization. (WHO) and the hand washing technique is not adequate. There is an adequate final disposal of hospital waste. Of the thirteen aspects evaluated in knowledge, the results reveal a deficient condition.
