The prevalence of obesity, cardiovascular risk and metabolic syndrome grows alarmingly and causes deterioration in the quality of life of the adult population, so it is important to detect and intervene in time on these risk factors. The objective is to evaluate the nutritional status and cardiovascular risk in university administrative personnel, for which a descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out, with anthropometric evaluation and fasting capillary glycemia, carried out on 257 administrative workers during cycle 2-2015. Interviews with a check sheet were carried out, after signing informed consent, the PAHO cardiovascular risk calculator was used, taking capillary blood glucose levels in people over 40 years of age and calculating the risk of metabolic syndrome, according to the criteria of the Latin American Diabetes Association. The data was processed in SPSS version 22 for Windows. Mild obesity was obtained in 26.1%, medium in 3.9% and morbid in 1.6%. The increased cardiovascular risk factor reached 41.6%, the moderate risk factor reached 26% and the severe and very severe risk factor range, 5.5%.
