Challenges of the state in the development of socioeconomic skills of families in the coastal area of El Salvador

Abstract

Several studies have been carried out to determine the strategies that should be implemented in the coastal zone of our country that show the need for public, private and foreign investment to improve the socioeconomic conditions of the population of the coastal zone. The objective of this research was to outline the socioeconomic dynamics of the families in the area that reside in the Salvadoran coastal areas, identifying the different labor practices of the families. To carry out the study, a survey was carried out with a sample made up of 1,810 families, where One member per family was interviewed. The results showed income levels below the agricultural salary of $200.00, established for 2017, so it can be said that their economic situation has not improved in recent years due to little state support through poverty reduction programs. . This study reflects that there is a relationship between the lack of credit approval and the productive activities of the area. Many families have not received any loans from the financial system, an alarming figure that indicates that seven out of ten businesses in the area are not investing in improving services or facilities. The State must take on the challenge of implementing comprehensive and sustainable development strategies in the marine coastal strip that impacts the socioeconomic conditions of the population.
