Workshop: How to Publish in Reliable Scientific Journals and Avoid Predatory Journals?

On March 27, the Publications Department of the Universidad Evangélica de El Salvador held a hybrid workshop on predatory or spurious journals, with the aim of training the academic community in the identification of this type of unreliable publications. These journals are characterized by not having peer review, disseminating non-rigorous content, having purely economic purposes, making false promises about the impact factor and using unethical editorial practices. The workshop was given by Mr. Pedro Ramirez (Eureka Consultants), specialist in scientific research and dissemination; Ms. Norma Hernandez, Director of UEES Publications; and Mr. Marcelo Barraza, Coordinator of UEES Journal Indexing. The activity was attended by institutional researchers and researchers from various institutions of higher education in the country, reaffirming the commitment of UEES with ethical training and quality in scientific production.
