UEES PARTICIPATES IN UDUALC’S 75TH ANNIVERSARY AND ORDINARY SESSION OF THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL

Dr. Cristina de Amaya, Rector, participated in this important activity of the Union of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean – UDUALC (See Agenda) https://100reunionconsejoejecutivo.udualc.org/

Among some relevant topics, the following were addressed:

1) The inherent right of the Universities in terms of their Autonomy

2) Analysis of the heavy administrative structures of HEIs

3) To deepen the real benefit of career accreditations and rankings for students, graduates, teachers, researchers and the entire university community.

4) Work within the framework of “collaboration between HEIs” and not in “competition”.

5) To turn Universities into more human, innovative and creative organizations, conceiving technologies as “educational resources”, which go behind Pedagogy. Hybrid Model as the best option (digital justice in the countries).

6) UDUAL’s PEI and its vision 2034.

7) Challenge of HEIs to be a reference in Research and useful Innovations. Case of Cuba as a country that created 5 vaccines against COVID-19, without depending on the market. 3 of these vaccines were created by universities.

8) New professional and teaching profiles.
