EVANGELICAL UNIVERSITY OF
EL SALVADOR
SPECIALIZED HEALTH RESEARCH CENTER INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP “ONE HEALTH”.

On May 28 and 29, with our University as the venue, the International Workshop “One Health” was held, organized by the Specialized Health Research Center of the Faculty of Medicine and sponsored by the Team France Fund (Mexico) with the valuable support of the French Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD).
We counted with the presence of distinguished personalities, among them our Excellency Ambassador of France Anne-Denis Blanchardon, Dr. Nuvia Estrada, Vice Rector of Research and Liaison and the Dean of FACMED Dr. Carlos Monchez, who dedicated a few words of welcome.
The workshop was led by Dr. Nicolas Duracka of the University of Montpellier, supported by Dr. Marine Combe and Dr. Rodolphe Gozlan of the IRD.
Throughout these two days of work, we explored a set of key indicators that allowed us to understand the current situation in El Salvador regarding the perception of One Health, through dialogue between local, institutional and scientific actors, as well as the main obstacles to progress and change paradigms that allow us new solutions and strategic plans to implement this concept.
This workshop represented a convergence of knowledge and experiences to consolidate an integrated vision of human, animal and environmental health, promoting sustainable and collaborative solutions.
We are convinced that this initiative will contribute significantly to the strengthening of scientific networks and the implementation of innovative strategies for global welfare.
