SECOND CCCU MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS PROGRAM COMMITTEE MEETING

On Wednesday, October 11, the second meeting of the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) Welfare Programs Committee was held virtually.

We were the only Spanish-speaking institution invited to this meeting, and 4 universities from the United States participated: John Brown University, Hope College, Pepperdine University and Westmont College.

The meeting addressed the presentation of specific counseling programs such as the John Brown University Wellness Program by Dr. Steve Beers, Vice Chancellor for Student Development, who has already visited our institution this year. And the RISE resilience training led by Dr. Connie Horton, psychologist and Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, whose student population exceeds 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students.

As a next step, the content will be shared to key areas of our University, to serve in the construction of the mental health plan of our Institution.
