School of Medicine begins work on Social Outreach 2025

During the month of February 2025, the Department of Public Health and Social Outreach of FACMED met with different institutions where Social Outreach activities will be developed with students.

The first coordination visit took place at the Centro Escolar Cantón Calle Real, Ciudad Delgado, to carry out activities of Promotion, Prevention and Health Education to be developed by the students of the Preventive Medicine Course for cycle I 2025. These activities are of utmost importance to create awareness and humanization in medical students, vital for their academic and professional training, putting into practice Christian values and achieving the profile of graduation. Likewise, sports balls were delivered to the students of the school.

A coordination visit was also made to the Parish of Our Lady of Lourdes, Ciudad Delgado, where social outreach activities will also be carried out for cycle I 2025. In addition, a tour of nearby communities was conducted to identify areas and topics for community work. These activities will be aimed at older adults who attend the church.

The last visit was to the Centro Escolar Cantón El Caracol, Ciudad Victoria, Cabañas, with the support of Brother Pablo Hernández, Pastor of the church Auditórium Cristiano, of the Transforma Cabañas Project, with this vulnerable population we have been working on different health education and prevention projects for a little more than two years and we continue to provide follow-up.
