Abstract

From the revenge uprising ' to the Maferrerian fraternity studies a new forgotten one about the events of 1932 in El Salvador: Tembladerales ([957) by Cristóbal Humberto Ibarra (1920-1988). Unlike other historical accounts, Ibani's attention is not drawn from the West of the country where uprising and military repression take place: The novel describes the daily life of a hacienda in La Herradura in the Department of La Paz. Propitiation becomes a model of harmony between the indigenous settlers, the American foreman who directs them, the owner of the hacienda, and the municipal and military authorities of the area. By developing a minimum vital for workers. El Sauce becomes the paradigm of a Salvadoran nation in search of an ideal model of reconciliation. To assume that a social conflict is resolved by a peace agreement - a collaboration or a commitment, Ibarra's novel deserves to be forgotten by history. History is always under cross-out.
