Abstract

This essay explains the advantages of using social networks in educational environments and develops a systematic analysis of the benefits that can arise when using social networks in education. Therefore, it is necessary to define the categories of analysis: first, education as the training process aimed at developing intellectual and cognitive capacity and educational skills. Likewise, in educational environments, students have the possibility of interacting with their peers and other actors in the environment and their family nucleus. In other words, basic, secondary or higher education schools are linked to primary and secondary social groups.

The second category of analysis is social networks, from the ICT point of view, they are tools that allow individuals to interact in an asynchronous or synchronous environment while allowing their users to be in permanent and constant communication.
