Signatories HEREDIA

Science, Culture, and Society shares the guidelines established in the Heredia Declaration regarding the establishment of ethical principles for the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in scientific research and publication, understanding that it is an auxiliary tool that must be used with transparency and traceability. Similarly, the roles of authorship, peer review, and editing are the sole responsibility of human beings, as AI cannot assume such commitments.

Therefore, we kindly request that those who contribute articles to this journal declare in detail the use of AI (model, version, date, and purpose) to validate their content, to avoid bias or misinformation, and to protect confidential data. They must also report whether there was external funding for its implementation. We, as editors of the journal, and internal and external reviewers, must maintain our independent criteria, making any AI support in our evaluations or processes transparent and guaranteeing editorial quality.

The Statement emphasizes the need to mitigate biases in AI models, promote the ethical use of data, and prioritize human well-being. Finally, it underscores that AI is an evolving field that requires constant updating, critical vision, and a clear ethical framework to preserve the integrity of scientific communication.

The DeepSeek-V4 model (DeepSeek, 2024) was consulted to form a summary based on fifteen points previously located within the document, and its outputs were validated and critically reinterpreted.
