Second socioeconomic diagnosis of the canton San Isidro Los Planes of the municipality of San Salvador

The objective of this study was to determine the socioeconomic situation of the inhabitants of the communities of the San Isidro Los Planes canton, municipality of San Salvador, El Salvador. The type of study was with a descriptive approach and with a
cross. The unit of analysis was the family group, with a non-probabilistic sample of 89 families. The Evangelical University of El Salvador (UEES) developed projects on care for mothers, family orientation, legal advice, brigades
medical-dental, Integral Development Center (CDI) and School Center (CE). It was found that the age group from 15 to 49 years was the predominant (88.8%), had more access to health services (69.7%) and showed the highest levels of study.
for the first and second cycle (32.6% and 23.6% respectively). The most common diseases in the population were flu, cough, bronchitis and sinusitis. The median family income was $150 (53.9%). 80.0% of the inhabitants have their own house. Only
10.0% consume drinking water and 91.0% are supplied with rainwater. For the disposal of excreta, the majority make use of septic tank latrines (68.5%) and sewers (15.7%). 29.21% mentioned that the UEES had carried out projects that were very
beneficial for them, such as medical-odontological, support for the CDI and CE. According to the inhabitants, the health projects were of great benefit to them, as well as the educational projects such as support for the CDI and CE.
