MEETING KOREA INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AGENCY (KOICA)

[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”37494″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” css_animation=”fadeInDown”][vc_column_text]On April 29 of this year, a meeting was held between the National Registration Center (CNR) and representatives of the Intellectual Property Registry (RPI), with the participation of the CATI network. This meeting focused on discussing the efforts made by the CATI Network of El Salvador in favor of innovation. During the meeting, the project to strengthen the CATI Network was presented, with one of its main objectives being the promotion of greater investment by universities in research applying the triple helix concept. As a first step in this direction, a quiz contest was held that addressed key issues, including:<\/p>\n

  • Role of CATI in Universities: The essential role played by the Center for Technology Support and Innovation (CATI) within academic institutions was discussed, highlighting its contribution to technological development and innovation at the university level.<\/li>\n
  • Organizational Structure of CATI in the University: The internal organization of CATI within universities was analyzed, highlighting the importance of an efficient structure to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing in the field of innovation.<\/li>\n
  • CATI’s links with other universities outside the country: CATI’s international connections were explored, especially in relation to other academic institutions outside El Salvador, highlighting the importance of establishing collaborative networks at the international level to enhance innovation and technological development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The meeting was attended by a group of experts from various Korean universities, together with representatives from the University of Costa Rica. During the meeting, it was highlighted that Korean universities carry out more than 1,000 patent applications in the course of a year, which underscores the commitment and dedication of these institutions to the protection and promotion of intellectual property and innovation. This meeting represents a significant step in strengthening the collaboration between the CNR, the PRI and the CATI Network, as well as in promoting innovation and technological development in El Salvador. These initiatives are expected to lead to a greater boost in research and innovation in the country’s universities, in line with the objectives of the KOICA Project and the vision of promoting economic and social growth through knowledge and technology.
